Project title:
Genre:
What are you submitting?
Please specify:
Note that MiLa Dark is currently specifically looking for horror films. You are invited to submit any project you think is worthy. Non-horror projects will take more time to be considered.
Log-line:
Up to 500 characters long.
Short Synopsis:
A longer description of your story, up to 1,000 characters long.
Original work?
Please specify:
If this is your original idea, great! If you based this idea on an existing work of any kind, you may need to get permission to use it. If this is not based on an original idea, you will be asked to specify. If you are not sure, don't worry. We can find out together!
Are you a WGA member?
Membership, or non-membership with the WGA is not a determining factor in qualifying. It will affect the type of agreement offered to you.
Your previous work:
Help us get to know you better. If you have writing credits, won any awards or participated in festivals - don't hold back! If this is your first project ever, that's fine too.
Further development:
If you are submitting a feature length screenplay, it may still require some development. Our development team is eager to work with talented collaborators and bring your project to fulfill it's potential.
If you are submitting anything other than a feature length screenplay, development will be needed to turn your project into a feature film. The nature of the collaborative process will be discussed after your project has been selected by our reviewers.
Production scope:
Filming locations are anything that require the crew to move from one place to the other. For example, a house and a street are two different filming locations. Two rooms at the same house are not.
MiLa Dark aims to produce films with a small budget. Therefore, the amount of filming locations may be a factor in the review process. It may also be part of the development process if your project is selected but has many filming locations.
Number of Characters:
Characters are those who have a significant speaking role. A bystander commenting in an accident scene is not a character, but a police officer who interrogates a suspect is.
Special or visual effects:
Will your project require any special effects (on set) or visual effects (in post-production)? Examples include cars falling off a cliff, underwater scenes, blood effects, flying people, body parts coming off etc.
Difficult scenes:
In your opinion, what in your project will be difficult to bring to life? Anything from a resurrected mummy, an abandoned times square, a child actor or training a pigeon.
Production budget:
Numbers can be deceiving, but for those who are able to assess the budget of their project it may be valuable information. It's ok if you don't know!
Full ownership to MiLa Media:
If your project is selected, MiLa Media will approach you with an offer based on a collaborative negotiation. We want you to be part of the project and reap the benefits of your hard work. The agreement which will be offered to you will include a compensation (which will vary based on what you are submitting and how much work is needed to bring it to production ready level) and a transfer of ownership or option, under agreed upon conditions, to MiLa Media. Submitter answering YES to this question will take priority.
